U.S. Business Mission to Egypt
"Partnering for the Future of Egypt"
October 23 - 26, 2016

The American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham Egypt) in conjunction with the United States Chamber of Commerce, the U.S.-Egypt Business Council and the Egypt-U.S. Business Council, will organize a major U.S. Business Mission in coordination with the U.S. Department of State, during the period from October 23rd through October 26th. The delegation, which will be accompanied by the Honorable David Thorne, Senior Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of State, will include more than 50 leading U.S. Corporations represented through their global and regional senior executives from across a range of industries and sectors. During their visit to Egypt, the delegation will underscore the longstanding commitment of the American business community to Egypt's long-term stability and prosperity; as well as explore prospective investment and business opportunities.

While Egypt is witnessing a number of challenges, with many bold reform programs underway, and much speculation from the business community on their economic impact, and as the country prepares to close a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) within the coming weeks, this visit comes as a vote of confidence from Corporate America in Egypt's long term economic stability. Moreover, as U.S. elections are a few weeks away and opportunities exist to build a new partnership with Egypt, it is imperative that this new partnership has as a primary pillar, an emphasis on expanding and deepening the bilateral economic relationship based on a mutual respect as well as the desire of the United States to positively impact and directly contribute to Egypt's economic revival. The delegation will also discuss some recommendations as to how with the support of the government, Egypt could witness increased investment and face its existing challenges.

The delegation will include senior representation from the United States Trade Development Agency (USTDA) as well as U.S. and international financial institutions.

Members of the delegation are scheduled to meet with President El Sisi, the Prime Minister, and Members of the Egyptian Cabinet. A number of events will be hosted by AmCham Egypt jointly with its partners and will be featuring; H.E. Sherif Ismail, The Prime Minister of Egypt and a number of Ministerial Panels. Each event will be attended by over 700 attendees comprising government officials, diplomatic corps representatives, AmCham Members and guests, academics as well as select media representatives.
